Bus Seward to Whittier
The trip from Seward to Whittier by motorcoach travels about 85 miles along a designated National Scenic Byway, and generally takes just under 3 hours by motorcoach. As you depart Seward you will climb into the Kenai Mountains, traveling through the Chugach National Forest, alongside Kenai Lake and past the community of Moose Pass. Later on your bus ride, you will descend back towards sea level to the Turnagain Arm and Portage station. From here you travel through Portage Valley and through the 2.5 mile long Anton Anderson Memorial tunnel to Whittier. This is a one-way tunnel, shared with the Alaska Railroad, and offers designated times for vehicles to travel in each direction. It provides the only ground access to the port city of Whittier. The motorcoach will go directly to the cruise ship terminal upon arriving in Whittier.
